Rod Ouassaidi is an entrepreneur, restaurateur, and the founder of Moona , And Pita restaurants . Driven by a passion for authentic Eastern Mediterranean cuisine and genuine hospitality, he has built restaurants known for exceptional food, warm service, and a strong sense of community which has made him one of Boston's most respected hospitality leaders.
Mohamad el Zein Co-Owner
Originally from Lebanon and born in Abu Dhabi, UAE, Mohamad El Zein developed a deep appreciation for diverse cuisines from an early age. After moving to the United States to study finance, he discovered his passion for hospitality while working at a French bistro in Boston.
Mohamad built his career through leadership roles at Aquitaine, Blu at The Ritz-Carlton, and Masa Restaurant, where he ultimately became Director of Operations and co-owner. In 2016, he brought his vision to life by founding Moona in Cambridge's Inman Square—an Eastern Mediterranean restaurant inspired by the flavors of his childhood and the tradition of the Middle Eastern pantry. Today, Moona is known for its authentic cuisine, warm hospitality, and commitment to exceptional dining experiences.
Othmane Hafiani -Executive manager-
Originally from Morocco, Othmane Hafiani holds a Master's degree in Land Surveying Engineering and Management. His career began outside of hospitality, but his passion for operations, leadership, and business strategy led him to the restaurant industry, where his talent was recognized by Moona and Pita founder Rod Ouassaidi.
As Executive Manager, Othmane combines analytical thinking with hands-on leadership, overseeing operations, business development, and strategic partnerships. His focus on operational excellence, process improvement, and sustainable growth helps ensure that every aspect of Moona reflects the quality, consistency, and hospitality the restaurant is known for.
